Recent Photographic Work

I haven't posted anything on here in quite a while, so here is a selection on photos which I've taken recently.

These images are mostly from a staged street photography series that I'm producing at the moment. The idea behind most of the photographs I'm currently working on is to create a narrative story within a still image. I'm also looking at the rise of social networking technology and how it impacts on actual first hand social interactions.

The camera used was a Sony a290 with a stock 18-55 lens and a Sigma 28-200. Digital editing has been kept to a minimum (noise reduction and darkroom tools).

Punchdrunk (With rough lyrics)

I've been working on this for a while, but keep getting distracted by other things. Here - finally - is a rough mix with lyrics. They will be re-recorded.

Old shots

A couple of photos from a research trip to Cromer that I did a while ago. These are all I got before the police showed up to ruin things...

Punchdrunk

Here's a first take instrumental version of a new song. I haven't recorded any vocals yet as my voice is currently wrecked.

Remnant Photographs

These photographs stem from a long-running fascination I have had with the remnants of people left behind in objects, and the variance in scale between these things and vast concepts of time and distance. The coat is used to imply a human presence without actually portraying one, it serves as a suggestion of something which is missing.

These photos were taken in empty areas of the city at night using only street-lighting. Digital editing has been kept to an absolute minimum.

Empty Beach Music

Empty Beach Music (mp3)

This was written the same day I went to the coast and got the images for the screen prints in my previous post. I wanted to experiment with sparse instrumentation and creating location-inspired soundscapes. I'm planning to use this as the last track on an E.P. which I'm currently in the middle of writing and recording.
